Joshua had grown up in a world where it seemed that the only witches, vampires, and werewolves were in D&D and the movies. One horrific night, however, leaves him a werewolf, on the run from a coven of witches, and hiding out with a vampire. Soon its angels, and ghosts, and evil gods – oh my!
Silas Decker had his world destroyed when he was attacked by vampires outside of New Amsterdam. He has rebuilt his life a dozen times in the last three hundred years—each time less and less successfully. Now he lives alone, buried under a hoarding habit, struggling to find some reason to wake up with the setting of the sun.
Joshua heads back to school. The teachers don’t know he’s a werewolf, but the “gifted” students -- the Goths – do. One of them is missing – and there’s a penguin that wants to talk to Joshua at the aquarium.
